Family claims Abdul Qudoos Zarakzai and 17-year-old daughter forcefully disappeared in Khuzdar

Abdul Qudoos Zarakzai and his 17-year-old daughter Aqsa were reportedly detained from their residence in Khuzdar’s Civil Colony and taken to an undisclosed location. Family sources indicated that the incident occurred in the evening, raising concerns about their whereabouts and safety.

According to the family, the detention was carried out by personnel from the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) along with plainclothes officials. The raid took place around 10:00pm on August 5, when heavily armed officials entered the residential area without prior notice.

During the raid, the officials allegedly harassed women and other residents, subjected them to physical assault, and conducted a search of the premises. The family described the operation as aggressive and intimidating, causing distress among those present.

Abdul Qudoos Zarakzai and his daughter Aqsa were taken away during the raid, but the family was not informed of the reasons for their detention. No official communication or notification regarding any legal case or proceedings was provided to the family at that time.

Since their detention, there has been no information about the whereabouts or condition of Abdul Qudoos Zarakzai and Aqsa. The family has not been told where they were taken or why they were detained, heightening fears of enforced disappearance.

In light of the situation, the family has appealed to human rights organizations, the legal community, political parties, and civil society to intervene. They urge authorities to ensure the safe recovery of Abdul Qudoos Zarakzai and his daughter, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability. Pakistani authorities had not issued any statement regarding the enforced disappearance at the time of this report.
