QUETTA — Civil society members, human rights activists, and medical professionals gathered in large numbers yesterday in front of the Quetta Press Club to stage a powerful protest demonstration. The demonstration was organized to vehemently condemn the horrific acid attack targeting Dr. Mahnoor Nasir, which occurred within the premises of the Civil Sandeman Hospital.
The protestors chanted slogans demanding immediate justice, institutional safety for working women, and the swift apprehension of the perpetrators behind the heinous crime.

Immediate Arrest & Strict Prosecution: The protestors demanded that the police fast-track the investigation and arrest the attackers immediately, ensuring they face the full force of the law under anti-terrorism and strict anti-acid assault legislation.
Enhanced Hospital Security: Speakers pointed out severe security lapses at Civil Sandeman Hospital, demanding the immediate installation of functional CCTV surveillance networks and stricter access controls to protect on-duty staff.
Provincial Protection Policy: Activists called upon the Balochistan government to enact comprehensive institutional policies specifically aimed at safeguarding working women, particularly those performing emergency services in public hospitals.
