Pakistani Forces Convoy Ambushed in Kalat as Fighters Block Chagai Highway
A Pakistani forces convoy was ambushed on Monday in the Soro area of Manguchar, Kalat, while armed fighters blocked the Quetta–Taftan highway and set fire to a government office in Chagai, according to local sources.
The convoy included several small and large vehicles. Sources said one vehicle fell from a bridge during the attack, and several personnel were killed or wounded. The number of casualties could not be independently confirmed.
In Chagai, local sources reported that a large number of fighters, including women, entered Yakmach and set up a blockade on the highway.
The fighters also attacked the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) office in Yakmach and set it on fire. No casualties were reported, and authorities had not commented on the incident at the time of reporting.
Earlier on Monday, an explosion targeted Pakistani forces in the Hokani area of Parom, Panjgur. Lance Naik Rafiq of SOW 169 Wing was killed, while Lance Naik Mubeen was seriously injured.
No group had claimed responsibility for the attacks or the highway blockade at the time of reporting.
