Four family members reported to be forcibly disappeared in Quetta
Two women and two young children from the same family went missing after being detained during a raid in Quetta, according to family sources.
The incident occurred early on August 19, around 4 a.m., when personnel from the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and Frontier Corps (FC) raided a residence in Gashkori Town and took away the four family members from Mastung. Their current locations are unknown.
The women have been identified as Umaira, 27, and Najma, 28, both housewives and daughters of Abdul Rasool. The missing children are eight-year-old Montessori student Parisa, daughter of Man Dost, and 18-month-old Zakir, son of Abdul Haq.
The Baloch Women Forum (BWF) strongly condemned the incident, highlighting that the family members have not been able to contact their relatives since their detention. The group described the disappearance of such a young child as “particularly horrifying,” emphasizing that women and infants are not spared from enforced disappearances in Balochistan.
The BWF has called for the immediate and safe recovery of all four individuals and demanded that their whereabouts be publicly disclosed.
